Black Hole
A black hole is a region in space where gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape its gravitational pull once it crosses a boundary called the event horizon. Black holes form from the remnants of massive stars after they explode in a supernova. If the core of the star is massive enough, it collapses under its own gravity, compressing into a tiny, infinitely dense point called a singularity.
Cosmology
Cosmology is the study of the origin, evolution, and eventual fate of the universe. It explores large-scale properties such as its structure, dynamics, and overall composition. Cosmologists seek to understand fundamental questions about the universe, such as its age, size, shape, how it began, and how it might end.
Dark Energy & Dark Matter
Dark matter is an invisible and mysterious substance that makes up about 27% of the universe’s mass and energy. It doesn’t emit, absorb, or reflect light, making it undectable through conventional means. Dark energy constitutes about 68% of the universe and is a force that accelerates the expansion of the universe.
High Energy Astronomy
High-energy astronomy is a branch of astronomy that focuses on studying celestial objects and phenomena emitting or interacting with high-energy radiation, such as X-rays, gamma rays, and cosmic rays. These forms of radiation carry significantly higher energy levels than visible light.
